Possible Side Effects
Nausea, stomach upset, trouble sleeping, headache, or cold symptoms may occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: dizziness, mental/mood changes, fast heartbeat, fever. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: fainting, irregular heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

What are the differences between Allegra D brand-name drugs and Allegra D generic drugs?
You probably know that pharmaceutical companies carry out extensive research and clinical testing to win approval from the Food and Drug Administration for new drugs. The new drug is then protected by patent for at least 10 years. Hence, a brand-name drug. When the patent expires another drug company can "copy the recipe" for the brand drug. This "copy" is called a generic drug. The FDA requires that generic Allegra D have the same active chemical composition, be dispensed in the same dosage form such as a tablet or capsule and be taken in the same dosage as the brand-name drug.
More HighlightsBrand Name Drugs
A brand name like Allegra D is the trade name under which the drug is advertised and sold. A new drug is protected by patent, so only one manufacturer can produce it. For this reason, brand-name drugs usually cost more than generic drugs. Once a patent expires, other companies may manufacture a generic equivalent.
Standard practice and most state laws require that a generic drug be generically equivalent to its brand-name counterpart. That is, it must have the same active ingredients, strength, and dosage form—pill, liquid, or injection. The generic drug also must be therapeutically equivalent—it must be the same chemically and have the same medical effect.
